Imagine: if full self-driving fails, how boring the human future will be.

You mention the three new vehicles. I think that the new roadster is NOT one of the three. I count one cybervan, one model 2 and one robotaxi. It would logically be foolish to cover the new roadster when it was released earlier. What are your thoughts.

Tesla needs to properly name their cars. Model Y, Model X, Model A…….what the heck? I have no idea which is which, and I would bet I’m not alone. Put unique names to these plain looking cars so we can tell them apart.

These new cars aren't coming before 2030. We all know that Elon is more interested in FSD, not in making cars. They already cancelled the 25k car. We have seen these under the cover illustrations 5-6 years ago. These aren't new images. As impressive as the cybertruck is, it's clear they wasted their valuable talent and time in this product. Even if it becomes the best selling EV truck, it's still not enough. To justify the effort put into this, cybertruck needs to be the best selling truck surpassing F150 ice version similar to how model y became the best selling car surpassing it's ice counterpart.

I appreciate all the content and current updates, but I feel there's a lot of 'filler' information or (sorry) 'history lessons' about the benefits of EVs and why Tesla is leading the industry.

I think they should go more premium not cheaper. They will be competing with themselves with the used market. I'd rather see the roadster. Less batteries for more money.

Did anyone notice the tesla website is now listing the 7500-tax credit being added to the LR and SR models? It was just the performance, but now it does show it is eligible. I also noticed there is not listed time frame if you order today...but you can see the Order pickup approximation with the model Y. This is very interesting.

I say the boxy vehicle will be a parcel delivery van. Think MB Sprinter or Rivian EDV

It doesn’t have to be a Robotaxi vs a $25k car proposition. Who’s to say they won’t be the same vehicle? Remember Steve Jobs teasing that Apple would release a new iPod AND a cellphone. They turned out to be the same device. Same thing here.

If Elon could design a cool Opel GT looking AWD sports car for around 30K and 400 mile range/charge Tesla would make a fortune.

When Tesla says that the AI is learning to close the trunk without chopping off your fingers, what exactly does that mean? Is the AI local to your truck, or does it share this information with all the other trucks? Does this mean that the trucks keep learning from every owner, and then share that information? And Elon is complaining about Apple AI regarding data privacy? If the trucks don’t share this information that has been learnt, then I guess if my truck has learnt not to chop off my finger, your truck might not? What if the sensors have not been calibrated or are faulty? How can we even know if the AI is learning correctly, given that bad data input will generate trash results? If you train the trunk to close on carrots, it will learn not to crush carrots. Then you try it on your finger… what happens? So many questions! I don’t believe any of this is even using anything “smart”. FSD is not available, they don’t have the time to make it work. They won’t have the time to make the trunk work.

If he releases the van, he’s going to kill it selling them to Amazon.

There is no reason to geo-fence vehicles using Tesla FSD, robo-taxi included. That simply is not the nature of the FSD software. It is a general solution, using visual cues from the environment to make driving decisions. It does not depend on a highly detailed static map or lidar the way other partial solutions such as Waymo. When Robo-taxi is deployed, it will be limited only by licensing and availability of Robo-taxi units. As for the reasonably priced next-generation Tesla vehicle, I'm personally hoping for a cyber-hatchback. 2-door or 4-door, I would be happy to sign up for one. And no, I don't require neck-breaking acceleration or a top speed over 100 mph. If I never took a road trip, 100 miles of range would be plenty. But the fact is that I do travel outside of the city. For those trips, I need about 200 miles nominal range and a charging time under 20 minutes. I believe that would be good enough provided that super-charging is available on my travel routes.

Maybe the van would be something that could compete with the Sprinter...or a smaller version of that. A hatchback M3 would be really popular....pretty exciting stuff...

It all depends on how you interpret Elons words. He said he would “present” the new model(s). Not something ready to produce, but an idea that might become a product. In due Elon-time…. And, if you stuff his android behind the steering wheel of a model-3, you got your robo-taxi. Though not as most were contemplating about.

All of these self driving cars and vehicles with side crash warnings, etc emit radiation, plus cell phones and WiFi in homes so now we are bathing in it so cancer will increase. Yay convenience and unlimited consumption!! Elon wants to transfer his consciousness into a robot so he can live for ever ( he thinks). He doesn't care about anyone else., like the rest of his billionaire buddies. But by all means, keep pumping for him, he'll step over your body as well on his way to his private Nirvana.

The lithium-ion batteries that are in EV cars use heavy metals including cadmium, cobalt, lead, mercury, manganese, and nickel. Most of these heavy metals are strip mined in mines that are raping the land and destroying the local eco systems,... mostly in South America, Central Africa and parts of Indonesia and Asia. 80% or more of these strip mines are controlled and owned by the Chinese Communists. Enjoy your EV.

As a new Tesla owner, I am realizing that this car is such a joy to drive, why would I want to let the car take over? This is the inherent dilemma for me.
